This module provides a basic introduction to the dangers of working with asbestos and helps employers to comply with the law by ensuring that their workers are appropriately trained in order to work safely.
This module is aimed at workers who are likely to encounter Asbestos Containing Materials during their work activities and workers who work in buildings where asbestos is or may be present.

- What is asbestos, why is it hazardous and whose health is at risk of exposure from asbestos.
- Asbestos related diseases.
- Different types of asbestos.
- What products can contain asbestos and where asbestos can be found in premises.
- Applicable legislation.
- How to avoid exposure and what to do if you encounter asbestos.
